At the last float fly, Clairville, there was a discussion started by me, about the ability to alter AS3X setting using your tx. Most there indicated that one must use the programming cable, whereas I believed that one can do it from the tx. The manual, DX7 G2 indicated that one can do it at the tx.
Turns out that one must use the programming cable to change the rate and gain settings in the rx from ABS (absolute) to REL (relative). Then set up the tx telementry to AS3X. Then the gain and heading settings can be changed 'on the fly' so to speak.

Al,

Thanks for posting the answer.  Remember I am the guy who doesn't even use exponential on any of my airplanes.  I fly it the way the transmitter is programmed.
Flew my E-Flite Rare Bear  (4S, 70 amp ESC) again today which has AS3X as supplied with the plane.  It does make for very smooth flying of a twitchy, overpowered airplane.  I ain't changing a thing on it! :D  I figure if I change the "gain" it will be my loss. ;)
