Another Wednesday is upon us.

Training is scheduled for 6:30pm. The forecast is predicting that the winds might be on the high side. Which will impact flying. Depending on your model and level of experience you might be grounded until the winds calm (usually at the end of the evening).

I won't be there tonight, but there will be a number of instructors there and ready to help you.

Have fun! Fly safe!

@thehaze oh man, I was planning to bring my Extra 300 today... I think the wind won't be favorable this afternoon anyways... so I think I'l bring my Sensei ....

Any other instructors available this afternoon?

Andre Albuquerque

Be careful... it's always too close, no matter how far...

sihinch

I was planning to go, but have just seen the wind forecast....

12-13 knots, gusting 15 for this evening.  That's 20km/h gusting 28km/h.  :o

It is an hours drive to TEMAC for me in the evening, so I am just contacting other instructors to get their input on whether training is viable.

It's certainly too windy for a Hobby Zone Super Cub for example, not sure about an Apprentice.  It will make flying a challenge, that's for sure.

Oscar

I wonder how well the Apprentice can handle the 20km/h wind.

thehaze

That might be on the upper end of what the Apprentice can handle.

Maybe if we sacrifice a goat to the wind gods, they will have mercy on us!
What could possibly go wrong?

Well, training did take place this evening, and even though it was quite cool and windy, we all had a pretty good time.

I worked with Daniel and with Ed, both who did some pretty good flying, and got some good experience flying in the wind.
Daniel was doing some good takeoffs.

Rob also did well (with Greg) and I saw him do a nice landing.

At one point, I recall seeing 4 Apprentices in the air at the same time!

Sorry I missed it I received some VERY interesting news today. I will be posting about it in the general thread tomorrow.
Yea 400W/lb should about do it.. But wouldn't a nice round 500 be better?

Andy Chong did a great job in the wind with his apprentice.  In fact, I think I only took control twice in two long flights.  Great landings too!  :)

I just want to say how great everyone in the club is to newcomers like myself. Thanks you guys, it is a pleasure to be part of the club.

Hey Rob, that's great to hear.  Thank you.  :D

We were all newcomers once.  I think we all remember that a positive welcome and active engagement are very important in making people feel part of the club.

Plus, we love new members - we get to see new models, make new friends, and it all adds diversity and interest to the club.

SooooooOOoooOOoooooOOo.... it's Wednesday again... it seems we will have 30% chances of rain... anyone planning to go to ROGO?

I want to bring my Extra + Cessna and have some fun learning

My forecast shows 90% chance of rain.

I am not planning to drive up tonight, I'm afraid.

And if you thought the mosquitoes were tough on Monday evening ...  :o
