A friend very kindly passed on to me a Starmax Skyraider. The model was in need of some TLC and some retracts, but was on my list of "must owns."

This isn't really a build blog, but evidence of the refreshed model. It's huge! 1600mm and a fat fuse.

Just need to set-up the radio and balance it now. I'm hoping to fly it on Wednesday.

Thanks Friend!

Simon,

So now your list of "must owns" is down to 2456. ;D
Keep whittling away at it.

Wow Simon that looks fantastic!   Nice rebuild!   Good motivation to the others that might have crashed a few times and gave up!

What did you use to fix the broken foam?  CA or hot glue?

Greg - you taught me well! So it's repaired with hot glue.

The biggest issues to fix were:
1) Broken motor mount - built a ply one
2) Broken wing mounting plate - glued in a new ply one
3) Bent motor adapter shaft - still not straight but I've done my best.

It's in the car and ready to fly tonight. Then it would just benefit from some weathering to hide some of the repairs.

Don't worry, I think there'll be plenty of 'weathering' tonight.
