#3
A different evening.  High winds, thermals, shifty wind direction, gusty.
Yet Mike V., Max, William and Paul managed to get flights in.
Each flight in these conditions is the experience of three normal flights.

Thanks to Philip for helping instruct, ground crews Mark and BJ and to students Max, Mike ,William and Paul for not giving up or giving in.

The photos:

05- Mark telling BJ he better be two arm spans away from him.... and BJ saying he wouldn't dare get closer.
06- Max solving the motor mystery
07- Max using pliers to extract a "tooth" from the front of his airplane.
08- BJ's new windsock.  It is smaller so it is tougher to grab his plane.
09- the collected brain trust deciding whether to go flying.
10- BJ telling students where to fly.
11- Flying the Guillow's Arrow with E-Flite 180 on 2 cells.  No problemo.

Frank

ps: if that was Guy who circled the field twice in his 150, we guessed it before seeing Guy's post.  Andy would have waggled his wings.

Well, I did wiggle the wings on my way out the first time.
Also, I took pictures and a quick video of the field from 2,000 feet; they will be posted tomorrow.
There were 2 planes flying, looked like trainers.   ;)

Hey @GuyOReilly

AGL or ASL?

Andy

GuyOReilly

Here is a pictures of the field from 2,000 feet ASL or ~1,000 AGL.   ::)
I would have needed a photographer onboard so I could concentrate on flying...  ;)

Great photo.

That daunting set of trees in front of the flight and towards the road look like a bunch of shrubs from the air.  Those trees have a proven appetite for foam, balsa, Apprentices (Apprentii?) and Lysanders.  It looks like a mini forest from the pilot stations but in this photo they only take up a small percentage of the field.

Love the scale Du-Bro Cessna wheel in the bottom of the photo. ;D

@Frank v B forgot to mention that those trees are hybrids;  all of them were crossed with a black hole which is characterized by intense gravitational fields from which even light cannot escape!! Frank should put that into the TEMAC Wings curriculum.
