Hi everyone,

to follow up with Frank's last post, it's true! We won the unmanned systems Canada 2021 competition. See the winner announcement and competition details in the link here: https://lnkd.in/eNj4Vib.

Just a snapshot, we were able to deliver 17 packages for our multiple deliveries mission - task 1 - and fly over 30 kilometers for our long distance delivery mission - task 2. That's over twice the amount of packages and over 10 times the distance of the next best team.

You can also see full videos of the flights themselves on our youtube channel below:

Task 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ia4w1gb8flQ&t=2493s

A big thanks to everyone at TEMAC for supporting us and our testing over the years, we really appreciate it. Being a team in the city, it's not easy to find locations to fly. It goes a long way! This year, we really pushed the envelope with a vertical takeoff and landing fixed wing aircraft which took a lot of work and a lot of testing. Being able to use TEMAC made it all possible.

Bravo @RyersonUAV !  You have done us proud and we are honoured to have been able to contribute to your success.  It was a privilege to host your group and witness your excellent teamwork.  You certainly deserve this fabulous win.

To the Ryerson Team-

We are especially proud of your win because you had to overcome many challenges, some disappointing crashes and some bad weather (snow, ice, wind).  You achieved everything yourself.  We just gave a place to test and a place to fly.

There were others who helped us help you:
- Drew Martin (Bramalea RC Flyers) who came to Rogo Field and spent 8 hours testing three of you on behalf of Nav Canada for your UAV license.
- Rudie Nagelmakers of the Beeton Flyers who set up and monitored your long distance flight tests near Alliston. Rudie is a Ryerson grad himself and the word "no" is not in his vocabulary. :)
- to Mike Ronan and the Great Lakes Gliding Club for letting Ryerson use their runways for the long range flight tests. Mike volunteered at the drop of the hat.  If he didn't own the property to fly over, his uncle owned the 150 acres beside his property.

Again, congrats to the Ryerson Team and thanks to all TEMAC members who were asked to stop flying so Ryerson could test fly.

Well done Alex and the whole @RyersonUAV  team!

Your contraption was certainly a mighty impressive beast, especially when you were dangling the big nuclear spear underneath it!  ;D
