Frank failed his arc welding course- charging accident

Finished charging my 6S battery and went to unplug it from the charger.  While pulling the charge cord off (blue connector) the battery there was a large spark and arc welding sound.  I was using the blue connector of the 8 or 9 connectors on the Octopus charging cord.  The exposed male Dean's plug touched the stainless steel sink and arc welded itself to the sink.

A lot of scouring with a Scotch abrasive pad, soap and water and the evidence just about disappeared.

Yes, it was our basement laundry room sink.

After my charging fire issue about 6 or 7 years ago, I do all my charging on a 1' x 2' ceramic tile and place it on top of the laundry room sink so there is no fuel near the charging area. I also charge only when I am in the basement and discontinue charging if I have to leave the basement.

I continue to find ways to upset my wife with my battery charging antics.

PS: Thanks for the warning/safety issue raised.  I think that one of my battery was shorted by touching a metal ruler on my workbench when being partially unplugged.  ZAP!

It was "partially" open/connected... the MALE was visible...

Yep, the junk was exposed on the charge cord end.

Found the photo of my Lipo fire about 6-7 years ago.  It was scary.  If we would have put in an insurance claim it would have been over $5,000 damage. Not as spectacular as Rob Dickinson's lipo fire but scary all the same.
