Hey Guys,

It's a perfect day to celebrate the forthcoming winter solstice. Temperature is 3°, windchill is about -5°C. Winds are north to northeast at 15 gusting to 25 km/h. There are one to 2 cm of fresh light snow on the runway and field. The conditions are perfect for practising crosswind takeoffs and landings. The strong headwind component makes it a breeze to put down the plane with very low ground speed. Turning around with max rates on the runway is a lot of fun. Lots of rudder and up elevator to keep the tail stuck down on the runway for maximum control when negotiating with the crosswinds. I wouldn't mind a little bit of blue sky to brighten things up, but this really is a great winter flying day.

Wishing everyone a healthy, happy, and safe holiday season and a sweet new year.

Sincerely,
Andy Hoffer
