I'm calling on all members with shovels to come help dig out our field.  We need to shovel the driveway and the full parking lot.
If anyone has a snow blower and a truck then you can haul your machine to the field.
If we can get 100+ people at work on shovels and machines then we can get the field clear in just a few weeks.

Or... we can let Charlie, our next door neighbour, use his tractor.  Yes... that might be more efficient.

Charlie will be plowing the driveway and parking lot some time this week.  There's little to no snow forecast for the week, so it's the right time to clear.  The temperatures and wind this week do not allow for much chance of flying so there's no urgency to get the field cleared.

I'll post an update when it's done.  If anyone is driving past and see that it's done let us know.

Now... I've got a 4 foot wall of snow and ice at the bottom of my driveway to tackle... thanks to the town of Stouffville... and a small shovel... so... see you in the spring.  Oddly enough, Stouffville has a program for seniors whereby they clear the windrow after the road plow.  Unfortunately, the guy who performs this service doesn't quite understand the process.  The windrow was 2 feet, and this guy plows the snow into a 4 foot window about 4 feet up my driveway.  But, the end of my driveway is certainly clear.  I'm shaking my head.

Thanks so much Dave!

Of course folks will need snowshoes or skis or at least snowmobile boots to cope with the two feet of snow in the pits and runway area.  And they will have to bend way down to reach the assembly tables.😂😂

The driveway and parking lot have been plowed.  However, it's a bit tenuous so be careful.  I drove in about half way today and decided I didn't want to take the chance of being stuck by myself.  I backed out without any trouble.  A few days of sun should take care of some of that top snow.

I started getting stuck yesterday because the plowing wasn't finished.  Charlie took 3 whacks at it and even with a tractor he was getting stuck... there's that much snow.  I just got a call from him and it's done now... he finished this morning.  I'll have a drive by later and have another look.

The driveway and parking lot are now cleared.  That's a lot of snow.  Only a big tractor could have done that.

I drove in today and the snow is cleared to the gravel.  Some snow has been cleared at the fence openings.  If the weather ever gets better it's going to be a slog from the car to the stations.

When I first got out of my car there was a 5kph wind (I was going to write breeze but that invokes warmth... so I didn't) from the north and I thought... hey... not so bad... if I had a few batteries I'd fly.  I had my old f$%#d up planes with me.  Then I chatted with Chuck (snow clearing r us) for 5 minutes and I was absolutely frozen through... and the wind was now 20kph
