And yet another day at TEMAC to fly model airplanes and eat hotdogs! Sunday August 24, 2026. BBQ starts around noon. Free to TEMAC members.

The last BBQ was a tremendous success; lots of fun and lots of flying!

This BBQ will honour our late friend, Jack Higgins.

Will you be joining us?

Frank suggested inviting a friend of TEMAC (impressive pilot; impressive airplanes) who has attended some past events. Perhaps Frank can let us know about this.

Rob just discovered that Kwinter's Hot Dogs are back.  Kwinter's grandson brought back the hot dog from our past just this summer.  I remember they were the hot dog of choice at the CNE when I was little.  So, let's have a mash-up of Kosher Hot Dogs on the 24th.  Mark can grab us our standard excellent Shefa hot dogs and I'll get some Kwinter's.  I'll be there on the 24th for 1 of each!

Yeah! Another BBQ I am required to attend.

Temac sent out an invitation to Paul Hepworth who is a Spektrum demonstration pilot.  In the past he has been on the Canadian Indoor RC aerobatics team (F3P).  He has accepted and kept the date open.

Paul is still flying this OV-10 Bronco he brought to Temac two years ago.  It has enough battery capacity to power a small city.  He flies it like a trainer.  He also brought a large 3D plane last time (third photo with my Guillow's Streak on the cowl).  Paul has been asked to do the noon-time demonstration.

We have also invited EdEdge2002  (Ed McMahon) who was a very active Temac member until work took him to Ottawa.  Ed was one of Temac's two Kilowatt Brothers.  The other being Ben Feist who still flies with us. Everything they flew was ballistic at idle.  Vertical take-off and out of sight in two seconds.... because they could.

You need to be at this BBQ.
You have 24 days to get your chores done at home in order to get August 24 off.

Here is a challenge:

For the Aug 24 BBQ bring out your Nooner* pylon racers for a race in honour of Jack Higgins.  He started the race series.  That requires Simon Hinchcliffe**, Ed McMahon, Glenn and I to attend.  Here is hoping that Michael, Ben and Piker** still have theirs. Get searching and fixing.

Frank
* a Nooner was a 34" span kit originally designed for Speed 400 direct drive motors (85 watts) and Nicad batteries. At Temac we raced them with brushless motors on 3S producing 200 watts!!
** I am happy to write notes to Les and Tara so you come out and play. :)  ;D

Paul Hepworth has confirmed.

- invitation e-mail sent to Paul at 10:52 pm
- reply e-mail "I'll be there" received exactly one minute later at 10:53 pm.

Yeah!
