I like the idea of improving the driveway and parking area to extend the flying season on both ends. I've been flying at my SAM club field for over a month now because I have easy driving access to it and solid parking.

The field size itself is alright for me as it is, but I can certainly appreciate how it would make life easier for those members with large and hot models. I would support an increase in dues, even if only to build up our bank account as a hedge against hard times.

Whatever the majority goes for, count me in.

Does gravel for the driveway really increase the length of the flying season? Wouldn't we need gravel for the parking area also? Or is this implied in the posting? Its not clear to me.

I would support the fee increase if it would help extend our flying season...

One of the limitations of our field has been the inability to drive in when wet.

The rock/gravel covered driveway permits entry when the driveway would have been otherwise impossible to drive on.

This includes a couple weeks earlier and later in the season, and much sooner after a rainfall during the flying season.

If you're worried about the farmer, don't.

We have permission (in our original written lease) to put down gravel.
