General Discussion / Sunday flying- May 19. A beau...
Last post by Frank v B - Today at 05:05:29 PM
almost a perfect day.  No screaming winds, no cross wind.  What little wind there was, was down the runway from the south.

Simon C., Michael, Mark, David, Paul G., Noah, Cadez, Rob D., Ryan and George had a great time flying.  Long time member and friend Don Duthie dropped by with his wife Rosie.  Great to see them.

Photo report:
11- Ryan with his screaming flying wing.
13- Paul Gray after the maiden of his new stick.  All smiles.
16- Michael holding his truckload of shaped foam.
19- David assembling his leaf blower.
25- Stuart and Noah soaking up the sun.
27- Simon C. between flights
28- George with his powered glider.

Paul,

Yes they are 3S and will fit an Apprentice and have the have the yellow plug.  If you win this, I will supply a proper conversion plug for you but you will first have to beat my $30.00 bid.   ;D

General Discussion / TEMAC Driveway Gravel
Last post by davidk - Yesterday at 10:51:12 AM
Our driveway is going to be re-graveled on Tuesday May 21 around 11am.

We are getting 2 full loads of gravel spread by a slinger truck.

The slinger truck driver directs the gravel to where it's needed and in keeping with TEMAC, it's done by remote control.

Once the first load is done, the driver will leave to collect the 2nd load and come back.

Expect difficulty getting in or out of TEMAC while this is going on.

Sorry for any inconvenience while our re-graveling takes place.

Building / Construction / Re: OV10 Bronco by Planeprint
Last post by davidk - May 17, 2024, 05:39:51 PM
The OV10 has inner and outer flaps... which are on either side of the motor fuselage.  A 6mm CF tube is glued into the inner flap.  That tube then runs through the motor fuselage. A small connector is glued into the open end of the CF tube.  This connector fits into a slot on the outer flap but is not glued... it's this part that actuates the outer flap.
A servo is put in place inside the motor fuselage.  A control horn is snapped into place around the CF tube and the servo is connected to the control horn.  I don't think there would be any way to get the left and right flaps aligned enough to use a "Y" cable and 1 channel, so 2 channels will be used and the flaps can be adjusted.
