Flight Instruction / Re: Training July 9
Last post by Frank v B - Yesterday at 10:32:45 PM
We flew! People got there early.  George, Paul, Mark and I had several flights before students arrived.  Kirk had two flights with me and two with George.  He is coming along nicely.  Amir had a flight with me but that ended not too well.  Back to the drawing board.
Andy was there and had his P-51 trimmed out.  He took it up by himself on the second flight and did fine.

Photo report:
14- George trying to instruct Mark.  George, it will never work!
15- Temac's used car salesman.  Not really- Greg Cadez always drops by when he gets a chance.
17- nothing good could have come out of this discussion.
18- Paul after sucking on a lemon and Guy.
20- Andy and his P-51.  Nice flying plane.
12- the Wednesday brain trust.

Many members came out to fly on this hot and sunny day.  Great to see Simon Hinchcliffe and Rob Pike at Rogo Field.

Photo report:
55- David assembling his plane.
58- Rob Pike in his favourite place- his own tractor.  He did a beautiful job clearing the weeds to the south of the parking lot.
59- Richard Budney came back after a few summers away because of health issues.
61- Bruce shielding his head from the sun.  It was hot!
62- Moshe coming back from a flight.
68- David assembling his jet.
79- David proving to Rob he did not have any money to pay him.
94- Simon and Piker- brothers of a different mother.
96- Peter and David
07- Simon and Mark hamming it up.
08- Simon was sad because his plane sent out the white smoke of surrender- he smoked the ESC on his
EF-1 pylon racer.

General Discussion / Youtubers invade Rogo Field- ...

Some of us made it to the field early on Tuesday to meet Hafu and his Youtube team.
We were asked by John's Hobbies if we could answer their questions on RC model airplanes.
They were there to interview members about their models, take videos and follow planes with a quadcopter.
They also had a stationary quad filming from the northwest corner of the pilot stations.

I will publish the video link when it hits Youtube.

The people who had their planes filmed were
- Peter with his Hellcat and biplane
- Michael with his new 3D printed Learjet
- George with his jets
- Simon with his Nooner.  He challenged me.  Fun racing.
- My Flamingo 9' span power glider.

Photo report:
73- Peter assembling his brightly coloured biplane.
78- Hafu talking to Michael before the maiden flight of the Learjet.  Piker was trim man. The quad in the foreground was chasing the planes to video them.  He was a good flier.
98- Hafu with Michael after the maiden flight.
99- two members of the video team.
00- Peter's plane ready for take-off.
10- Impact point .  The quad hit the wing of my glider by accident.  It pancaked onto the wing with its flat bottom.  No other marks and no damage on the quad. The horizontal double lines are the edges of the spoiler.

Good photos, Frank. Thanks.

Absolutely no damage to the airframe; one EDF unit needs to be replaced.

Hopefully, ready to fly in a day or two.

Frank asked me to post on his behalf that he will be at the field at about 5:00pm regardless of the weather.
The forecast is not promising, but we've seen that before.  ;D
Attendance is not taken, so feel free to make a last minute decision
