Flying directly over someone holding a radar gun seems a little out of the safety code.   Any volunteers?  My gp rifle should be ready in a week and should do 135mph+ (215kph)
Yea 400W/lb should about do it.. But wouldn't a nice round 500 be better?

I don't think the angle at which readings are taken matters.

This unit seems to be very popular with the RC car and boat crowd.

Not trying to be a pain. But I did a little search and found this.

(Q)How important is it to stand in front or behind the object when measuring its speed?
(A)Somewhat important. The less the radar is directly in front of or directly behind the target object, the lower the measured speed (the Cosine Effect). The error is directly proportional to the angle off the direction of the target object. An angle error of about 25 degrees equates to about a 10 percent error (reading low by 10%).

Just to be clear when Ken attempted to take readings it was from behind the fence. I suspect the problem is insufficient reflective mass to generate a return signal. If Ken puts aluminum foil on one side of his Formosa he might get a reading???
