Yea 400W/lb should about do it.. But wouldn't a nice round 500 be better?

So when's yours coming?

Racing season starts soon.

Takeoffs are optional. Landings are mandatory.

Would be a great Christmas gift from Santa[WIFE]. The Dara is out of stock now.

More news from south of the border, two more Arf's are in the proto type stage and have been test flown at the US Nats and a race in CA.
Actually I am scratch building one right now.
Stay tuned.

looking at all of these planes I was wandering what will happen if I put this motor in my Sundowner - Instead of the Eflite 32 running with 5S and 10x10 APC

Scorpion HK-3226-1400KV

Motor Kv   1400Kv RPM/Volt
Max Continuous Current   80 Amps
Max Continuous Power   1770 Watts
Weight   239 Grams (7.77 oz)
Max Lipo Cell   6s
Max Peak Current   105A (2 seconds)
Max Peak Power   2330 Watts (2 seconds)

Will the plane break if I leave the 10x10 and use 5S battery?
Is there a cheaper version of a 32 size motor with ~1000-1300Kv capable of turning a 10x10 with a 5s battery?

battlestu

Good question... But I'm sure it will be fast  ;D

Headsuprc have a Firepower 30 1000kv, they say to us a 4c and a 10x7 prop. I think a 10x10 is to heavy of a pitch, it must really suck up the power from the lipo.
With the scorpion I would run a 8x8, you would not want to load it down with a 10x10, also it has 1400kv and is a high performance motor.
The Sundowner with a F1 set up is just a little slower than our Shoestrings, Polecats and Toni's but is bigger and heavier.
It should go pretty good with a 30 and a 10x7.

Bobmic

You think it will be faster with this 1000kv and 10x7 prop on a 4s than my current setup of power 32 770kv 5s 10x10 prop?
I was thinking that with maybe a 9x10 or even higher pitch it would work better.

If you need speed go with the H9 Jackal, I looked into the Sundowner, you need tons of watts to even get past 120mph. Its too draggy, i would leave it as an ef1 racer.
