I am going to thank Karl from the morning crew.  I had some issues with my band saw where the blade was moving around while cutting stuff so I could not cut anything straight.  After some investigation, I realized all the rollers were not set up properly now this all cuts very well. So this has now opened up a few more projects this little Funster looks like it will be my test Bed to see if I can cut things straight.

Flight Instruction / Re: Training Wednesday Aug 27-...

A beautiful evening and we started early.  Kirk, Amir, Bill and Jeff showed up for training.
Thanks to George for instructing while Paul, Mark and Manny helped set up transmitters.
Then at about 6:30 the wind picked up, the temperature dropped about 3 degrees and out came the sweaters.
Paul Gray had a maiden flight with his new Electro Streak.  Loi, Manny, at Kenny flew up a storm with a few of their friends.  Jeff lost the main gear on his Sensei. He hand-launched his plane with only a nose wheel.  That made for funny landings but at least he got stick-time in.
A nice evening but it is clear that about 7:15 is the latest safe flying light-wise.  We lose about two minutes of daylight per day now.

Photo report:
32- someone tell Guy he does not have to wind up the prop to go flying.
35- Instructor George and student Bill
36- Paul grinning before his new plane's maiden flight.
38- A missing set of main landing gear did not stop Jeff

reinforcing the cracked fuselage.

It looks like it pancaked so there were 4 significant breaks at the canopy (see arrows).
Used carbon fibre strands embedded in 5 minute epoxy across each break.
The whole thing took 10 minutes.  Glue was applied with a finger.

Once completed, each break will be sanded and coloured.

Photo 32 shows the carbon fibre strands as they were bought.
Photo 31 shows the 4 breaks. (black arrows)
Photo 29 shows the carbon in place across a crack.

Come and join us.  I will be there regardless of the weather.
If you are part of the training program please join us.  Only 4 more training evenings after that.  We usually stop the last Wednesday in September because there light is so limited.  The sun goes to bed way too early.

Any other members can fly during training evenings but students have priority.  That also means you have to watch out for them.  If you know how to fly you will also know how to avoid.
