I had the wings from a Gentle Lady for a few years collecting dust and then decided to build a different type of fuselage for it.
The tail is full flying, again some foam wing that was laying around for a few years/decade.
Here are the results of a few evenings worth of work, a bit of head scratching and time well spent if you ask me.
Power will be a geared motor (Thank you @Frank v B ) with 2 cells/1800 mah or so.
Prop and battery to be determined.
The wing will need new covering for the centre section, the tips are removable.
Servos HS81 metal gear for rudder and elevator.
Receiver, to be determined.

Guy,

Heck, you can call it a quick scale project.  See below.

Ready for Maiden Flight!
Need to check CG as it may be a tad tail heavy.  :-\

Testing that all works in the correct direction.

Guy,

One step removed from a pterodactyl.  ;D

For the maiden flight, the high rates on elevator should be knocked back to 30% of the throw on the video.
The way you have it set is for a 5' diameter loop.... both inside and outside.  The second reason for the reduced throw is the tail moment is quite short.

If it is tail heavy the best solution would be to move the motor forward (add 1/4" balsa or ply as a stand-off).

You have all the requirements for flight- i) a wing thing  2) a fuselage thingy  3) tail feathers at the back  4) a cement mixer on the nose.
They all fly.  8)

@Frank v B  kindly note that I was going for the 4-foot loop.  ;D
The throws will be adjusted, both for the rudder and elevator on the transmitter.
I would be at the field today (March 13) if it wasn't for the repairman who is late...  >:(

Frank v B

Guy,

So the video was on "low" rates.  ;)

@Frank v B , yes that was low rates, DUH!!  ::)
The CG was adjusted as suggested.  A few lead shots took care of that.  ;D
