Just took a ride for 2 in a 1930's era WACO UPF-7 biplane, around Ottawa, what an experience that was!

Hi Eddie:

Was that the Stearman at the National Aviation Museum in Ottawa?

Great plane, and super noisy if I recall!

The plane is a Waco...YMF model I think. You can see the company logo just ahead of the front seat door. Another candidate for a short list of the world's most beautiful biplanes...
DOWN WITH GRAVITY! UP WITH LEVITY!

Good eye, Bill!

And I agree, it is a beautiful aircraft.  I don't know why, but it just is!

Yes it is a WACO UPF-7, was told by pilot that it's design was submitted for use as a military trainer for pilots, but the design lost to the Stearman, it was still purchased for civilian use though, it is a gorgeous biplane and was loud as hell! Headphone suppressors worked great though. And yes it was at the Ottawa air and space museum, $85 a person, best money I've spent in a long time!

That is such a great museum. Some extremely rare planes there. Me 109 F, Me 163 Komet, Arrow front section. I went twenty years ago.

How long is the flight? I think it may be time for another visit.

The flight was short but amazing, 15-18min you can choose whether you want to over fly the city core including parliament hill, or you can choose the Ottawa river tour, flying along the river was my choice, you still practically fly over Ottawa city anyway so it's like a bit of both vistas.

Pulled a screen shot of spec plaque of plane off the video I took which I'll be posting soon,  thought some may be interested in it!
