That rc pilot was lucky.  That Mustang was right in the top and climbing wasn't an option.

The best option was not to fly into the trees to begin with.
That is what I keep telling my students.  Following that advice is another matter.  ::)

Mr helicopter pilot I salute you. What a great guy to take the time to help out a modeler.
Yea 400W/lb should about do it.. But wouldn't a nice round 500 be better?

Sometimes those trees just reach out and grab RC planes.

That was pretty cool though
Takeoffs are optional. Landings are mandatory.

There is a wing at the end of the field, maybe we can find someone with a chopper too?

I bet that guy didn't have any drawl until he became a heli pilot.

I agree it was cool until they started talking about how awesome it was and how awesome THEY are.  Sheesh!!

From a practical point of view (and I'm usually the last to be a stick-in-the-mud), it was reckless and wouldn't have been as cool if their tail rotor touched a branch and they tied that little chopper in a knot.

Of course he wanted to rescue the plane. "He flies that sh*t too." Just another RC pilot being helpful.
