It's official!

We are having a casual funfly / get-together at TEMAC
on Sunday Sept. 2, from 10am to 4pm.
www.temac.ca

No contests - no demos - JUST FUN FLYING!
(Of course, electric powered models only, of all sizes)

The funfly is FREE to all TEMAC and EMFSO members; A valid membership is required and current MAAC membership.
$5 charge for non-EMFSO-members; MAAC still required.

I will be on hand on Sunday to make sure MAAC rules are being followed (MAAC membership required, no dangerous or reckless flying, proper use of frequency board, etc.)

There are no formal food arrangements (there's a few fast food restaurants nearby) so bring your own and take your garbage with you.

I will get a prize which will be offered in a raffle; tickets will be sold to raise money for TEMAC.

A portable toilet will be at the club from Friday afternoon, possibly until Monday. If any TEMAC member(s) wants to volunteer to take care of the club for the whole day on Saturday Sept 1, please confirm here and we will extend the funfly to 2 days. I would also get another raffle prize for Saturday.

Update: Prizes for TEMAC Funfly!

From A+J Hobby: Seagull 3D Balsa ARF; retail value: $100.

From Pinnacle Hobby: Spektrum AR6000 DSM Parkflyer receiver; retail value: $70.
AND Spektrum Flight Log; retail value: $32.

Either raffle or auction, whatever is more fun and will raise more for the club (I don't care about being fair! [:D]) I haven't decided yet.

Any comments ?

Sounds excellent, Michael.

A simple raffle works well.  Alan should have a bunch of tickets.

Not everybody uses Spektrum.

Maybe a raffle for the plane (it's actually quite nice) and an auction for the 2 Spektrum units?

Nestor bought drinks for the funfly (please, everyone, take home your used cans and garbage; we have no trash disposal).

It was a pleasure meeting everyone at the fun fly today.

I wish to thank all the members for the hospitality shown towards me. It was good to finally get to see your club and see the vast variety of planes on hand.

Thanks to everyone who participated in making this year's TEMAC annual funfly the best one so far!

The range of aircraft and the skills of the flyers were truly impressive. As well, the attendance was great, often 4 or 5 people flying at the same time.

A short recap will be posted on the TEMAC website in a few days, and a story with images will be included in the next EMFSO newsletter.

I extend a special thanks to Nestor who really went out of his way to help!

If anyone has any photos from the funfly, please email them to me.

Everyone had a great time today.  Perfect weather and great organization.

Thanks very much to Michael and helper, Nestor, for putting on a great event.

Looks like I missed a great event. I had my planes and batteries all charged up, but these allergies have drained me out, feeling real sick, so didn't make the courage to go.

Fantastic weather ...
Great food and drink ...
Great company ...

The best funfly this year, IMHO. (But then as a "Temac'er", I'm a little biased! [;)])

Colin.

P.S. Congrats to Michael for a great event and special thanks to Nestor for helping everyone have a great time.
