Air retract system

I have a top flight corsair 60 size.  It came a bit rough, but complete.. It has an air retract system.  I am not 100% sure how this system works and was thinking of either tryng to get it to work or tearing it out and installing some electric retracts.

I think Glenn knows and I'm sure he could help you. All the older retract systems were air. Do you have a pump?
