hey everyone!

Imran L is coming over to my house tomorrow and since we have soooo many servos, esc's and motors from crashed planes, we decided to buy cheap foam and make 2 scratch builds and have full out combat with them :D . Were not making anything big or special, just some delta wing planes that we will spend a few hours on. :D so that way not to much time is wasted into something that we will break :p We will keep the post updated throughout the day tomorrow! Also my Eflite Mini funtana X is arriving tomorrow! so maybe ill start on that too! We got this idea from watching Flighttest's videos on youtube :)
Any day at the field is a good day :)

why not start with streamers like the morning crew do at Temac
"I'm disrespectful to dirt. Can you see that I am serious?"

imran1042

Sure :D if anyone else has any ideas we will go with it. The point is we are making little planes to have fun with :)

From the 'morning group'. We have at least six foam delta aircraft flying combat. We copied the design from a US club. I'll get the web site. They fly really well

The Delta that the "Morning Group" are flying has a free set of plans at:

The foam is the Blue insulating foam from Lowes.
A 4 x 8 sheet for $6 will make two planes.

I've seen these planes fly; they're terrific!

guys, they are finished :D

here are the build pics

mine is basically finished, but the hinges are kinda messy and need to be redone, and servos haven't been installed yet..

anybody got any tips for the hinges? i tried using hot glue to make the hinges, but it didn't really work.

all feedback is welcome :)

sorry i couldn't upload them to the forum again, files too large.

Truly superior pilots are those who use their superior judgment to avoid those situations where they might have to use their superior skills.

well.. they flew :) here are the results:

Imran L's plane:
Maiden flight: reached a good altitude but once the first turn was made, the plane came down on a steep angle and hit the ground, only the motor mount broke, We repaired it.
Second flight: Flew amazing, good amount of vertical, did loops, rolls. Flaws, stalling speed is really high and you must land fast in order to keep the nose leveled.

My plane:
Maiden flight and only flight so far: Reached a high altitude, flew fast and was capable of flying really slow, easy to flare, do rolls, loops, fly inverted and  amazing vertical climb.
:D
so both planes flew and they are perfectly fine :) so, successful build!
Any day at the field is a good day :)
