Well a few of us got some blue noses... I got a quick question, can someone measure the EP mounts that the kit comes with? Mine is a used gasser and I didn't get the mounts.  I will make them from carbon rod and a bolt.  I just need the lenght.  ::)

    I'll check later today.

   Hi Greg,

Are you referring to the the wooden box. If so, it is 3.875".

Hi Glenn

No I need the alloy shafts that attach to the box and motor mount.  Greg H said that they are 1-3/4" long. They call it the EP attachment mount. It's 4 metal tubes.

When is yours going to be ready?  I should be done by the weekend.  Just need to go to PIN and get a prop.  What power system are you using, I went with the power 60 500kv eq from HK.  90 AMP ESC with CC SBEC.  Need to get a Spektrum RX and full range RX.  Otherwise, some detail work and away we go!  ;D

Glen, please download the Revised PDF of the destruction manual.  There was some issues with rates on this model.

Also:

re-glue the section between the firewall and the battery tray, there are instances of it letting go in mid air.
Watch the rates as indicated above
Put all the wieght in the nose.
C/G in the manual seems OK closer to the LE.
The 15X10 prop seems to be the best option as the power 60 with 6S and the 15X8E only pulls 866 watts WOT.  The bird will be around 9-11 lbs.  15X10E will be around 1100 watts.

So far that is all that I could find to watch out for... Oh yes.. don't forget to either run a sep battery pack or a SBEC and not usre the 60ESC from E-Flite as it can't handle the load of the seros / retracts and flaps.

I can't wait!  It looks so good...

Michael, do you have any comments for us?

    Greg,

The tube length is 2 and 3/16." ;)

Sorry Greg, I haven't been near my planes for days; I'm swamped at work.

I am good for maiden. Model seems to be within cg requirements. Running a 6 4000 for the first run. Will be there around 1.

Gregor77

Maiden completed. Nice plane. P51d blue nose for sale. Lol. Anyways only issue. Make sure that all servos screws are in place. Second hand units should be checked and not assumed. Left servo horn fell off as the plane touched down. Horse shoes up the rear for sure. Thanks for everyone's help.

a few pictures from the maiden... she flew like a champ  ;D

Takeoffs are optional. Landings are mandatory.

I relocated the esc under nose instead of the inside of the fuse. Added some pink foam inside where the battery stays. Otherwise very nice. Ready for bb day.

Michael

Beautiful; one of the nicest ARF's on the market.

Sorry I missed the maiden.
