What did you build this winter?

Ok guys lets see the glamour shots of the beauties that will or have already escaped the dark dungeons of your hobby rooms from the curse we call WINTER!

This is my two I finished.  The turtledecked mustang was a kit I picked up cheap.  FG fuse and balsa sheeted foam wing.  Made by JM Glasscraft called the "CheapThrills"(and I did pick it up cheap lol)  I had some troubles with painting the fuse(thanks Greg for tech support) but got it done.  Im running a Neu 1105-2.5y(3800kv) on 3s 1550's.  Second is my new X-Plane.  this time with a hotliner setup on my existing motor/gearbox.  Prop ive been using so far is 14.5x14 @130amps on 5s 1800packs.   Its a rocket on the 2.5lb airplane and once I pick up some new 2250 packs I will be running the 16x17s that I already have waiting in standby!

Oh yes I almost forgot I rebuilt a Multiplex Cularis(thanks Gordon!) that was built(and generaly screwed up) by a bunch of university students.

Looking Good Ed. That mustang looks very smooth. The prop on the hot liner is as wider than the stab. WOW!

Yes Jack the prop is 1/3 the span...  The mustang is quite possibly the best airframe I've ever flown in its size. Fun. Fast and very forgiving.

Nice job on the shop Simon. Thank goodness you kept Robert out of it. He would have put floats on it.

Ed: Your X-Plane- 2340 watts or 936 watts per pound!  Are you sure it will be sub-sonic?  Your props are bigger than some of my wingspans.


Simon: re: your shop.  Check with Piker whether Leslie asked him to put the lock on the outside of the entry door to keep you inside.

Just replying to the question. My first post ever. I built a Great Planes U-Can-Do SF....didn't do it all, Great Planes helped...Pinnacle's Ron and Dave. Ron installed the Arming Device. Its been a great experience on an ARF. Plane has an 80 Rimfire, with a 90 Talon ESC and it filled the back of my Ford Escape. What a surprise! How am I going to get all my stuff to the field. Oh well, I was bored with my old planes and needed a clean looking airplane. Love the performance. Looking forward to beautiful warm days of Spring.

Previously I had been flying my new X-Plane on a 14.5x14 but I had all along planned and already had the 16x17s I was going to use on the plane.  Ive had a couple fantastic flights with the new prop that puts it over 1000W/Lb  I know that number will make Frank very happy! (its actually around 3100w on 2.6lbs Frank!)
