Four people (Ash, Malcolm, Brian, BJ)  are at the stage where they have to mount the motor on the nose of their planes without having specific instructions on how to do the measuring, attaching, building stand-offs, etc.

I will take a model of a P-51 Mustang .46 size that I just received from the Cadez collection and take you through the steps of the "How to measure and mount the motor and cowl."
We will then go through each of your models and give specific advice as it applies to your project.

Piker will remain on stand-by to do his covering seminar but planes should not be covered until the motor issue is solved...except BJ 'cause that's the way the plane came.  Michael and Simon will be there again to tell us why my way is all wrong* :D

Frank

* like the Jan 20 meeting where we concluded that when there are 5 people coaching there are at least 6 solutions to every problem. ;D

Ash,

I went to the Milton/Oakville swap meet this morning and bought a set of GWS retracts for you that may not your P-51.  Will bring it to the next build class.  It it doesn't fit I will just keep them.  No pressure.

Unfortunately I cannot make this Wednesday's class (Feb 24).  My wife and I have to be in Montreal for Thursday for a family event.

Simon will post the next steps on this class.  Both Simon and I prefer it goes on as planned.

So sorry :'(,

Frank

We will go ahead!  In true TEMAC spirit we will not let something like family get in the way of meeting!  ;D

Frank cannot make it this week, and neither can Michael.  But I like you Guys.  I like you alot, so I will be there!  I may not be much help with the builds, but I will certainly enjoy chatting airplanes and socialising with you.

So, if you want to come out, think of it like having a substitute teacher at school (at least how it was when I was at school!)  I will try my best and my intentions will be honest and good.  But I may not be able to help you long term!

What we will do is have a make up class the following week.  On March 2nd Frank will be back to give you some real advice and help.

There you have it - come if you dare.  Come if you fancy a chat.  Come if you want some build help - I will definitely give you an opinion.

Thanks Simon for continuing with the build class....hmmmm Rob's going to be there right?   ;D

piker

Sorry guys, but it looks like I can't make it either.  I assume Simon already knew that... that's why he acted like I don't even exist.  But that's O.K.  I'm not sensitive   :'(

If anything changes, I'll show up and contribute smart ass comments to Simon's teachings.    :P

Hi Mr Piker @piker - thanks for joining the forum.  Why dont you introduce yourself?  Welome to TEMAC.  ;D

Mr Pike, for the record, I had been told that you were a maybe for Wednesday, so I was trying to take some pressure off, by offering myself up (and being forced to socialize and talk planes all night - quite a hardship!)

We will miss you.

re. Substitute teacher @sihinch
Does that mean we get to miss-behave and throw paper planes around?
;D

Note to self: need to look up "how to miss-behave". I'm kind off out of practice on that one.

sihinch

I'll let you test my class control skills, Eric!!!

Throwing paper airplanes around hardly seems like miss-behavin' at a model airplane club meeting...almost seems like required behaviour ;) As far as an opportunity to be the class "enfant terrible" because the regular teacher's away, I look forward to the opportunity ;D Eric, if you remember how to do it, we can compete for top honours, although I admit to a bit of an edge...for years, I had to look after the substitute teachers when classes misbehaved! ;D
