B24 Liberator production at Willow Run... 1 per hour

Gentlemen,  I had no knowledge of the giant, 'Willow Run' B24 Liberator manufacturing and assembly plant designed and run by Ford Motor Company during WWII.
No wonder the Luftwaffe couldn't cope? They were up against the might of the American industrial machine. And this was just one aeroplane!

Some incredible notes from the film:
The building covered 88 acres
It was designed and built in just 18 months
Enough concrete foundation was poured to complete 120 miles of two lane highway
All aircraft structures from rivets and engines, were manufactured in the plant as well as assembled there
100 B24's were in the assembly line at the same time
Once the line was full and moving, a B24 Liberator rolled out the other end every 55 minutes (yes, less than one an hour)

Hats off to Ford!!  Incredible planning. Remarkable attention to detail and procedures.
