Just before the death certificate was signed by Dr. John on my troublesome DX6I, I did a screen transplant onto another DX6I.  Miraculous.

Background
- one DX6I had a broken throttle stick.  Could not get it to work.
- another DX6I had a screen I could not read.  I suspect it was hit by sunlight and failed.  I could not read the screen to program it or change models.  The transmitter was dedicated to one plane (Birdie 10)

Took the screen out of the one bad DX6I and installed it on the other transmitter.  It worked beautifully. See proof in the photos below.

Frank

41- removed the old screen
42- the screen out of the transmitter
43- the hard-to-see screen.  This photo makes the screen visible.  It cannot be seen in daylight.  10 times as bad.
44- new screen in the old transmitter.  All the lettering is visible.
45- the monitor function displays the proper throttle setting.
46- What remains of the old transmitter.  The screen is gone.

OK Dave, back her up. (photo 321)

Chris,

Some things are not fixed with epoxy.
I saved it for the nose job on Dave's plane and the hinges for Mark's plane.
That's a week's worth of epoxy fixes......for me. 8)

ps:  How's Ottawa??

Just dandy... I think after next week I'll be going every other week, but flight training ends next week :(  Some ground crew member I've been...

I'm so confused !  What's happening?

And an excellent fix it is, too.  1/3 throttle vibration gone... and with a bit of black dollar store paint... and a bit of lightweight spackle... the cowling and nose look like new.

You guys are a treasure trove of repair tricks and tips.  Very much appreciated.

Mark... I think you and I should treat Frank to some epoxy... a half gallon of each should get us through the rest of the year...
