Next on the workbench a Rainbow from Mantua Model.
It is an Italian model, from 2001 or so.
The box states that it is 90% prefabricated.
Only 90% of the work remaining to complete the model...  ;)
The instructions are basic in Italian (Istruzioni per il montaggio), French (Instructions pour le montage), English (Assembling Instructions) and Dutch (Bouwinstructies).
That should be a fast build.
I chose that as my next model as the floats need a plane for a test bed, easier than retrofitting and existing plane.

Water rudder constructed and installed.

Starting to take shape.
Motor turns in the correct direction, but prop seems on the small side.

More progress.
I decided to also have a land, tail dragger version.
The tail wheel was fabricated using very thin and flexible wire; my guess is that once power is applied, the tail will come up immediately.
Almost ready for maiden, next: control cobles/pushrods.

I learned something new today: when cleaning your airbrush, move the recently painted material away from potential splashing.  >:(

Canopy area painted.
50/50 rule applied, it looks reasonably good.
The grand-kids will get a kick out of this.

Ready for Maiden Flight.
It weighs in at 4 pounds exactly (with the battery) in the land version.
A successful land-version flight or two then the float version of the Maiden Flight when water warms up.

Maiden flight this afternoon at TEMAC.
A little trim on the ailerons and elevator.
Flies nicely; however, the propeller may be too small.
