2014 TEMAC Indoor Funfly

Sunday evening, Dec. 28, 2014, from 6pm to 10pm

Metro Toronto Golf Dome, 125 Milner Ave, Toronto, ON

TEMAC members get exclusive opportunity to fly before non-members are invited.
The event is limited to approx. 40 flyers.  TEMAC members wishing to participate must make their reservations here in this thread on this website.  The cost of participation for members is $15 for those who confirm early.  Payment accepted at the event only. If enough members do not confirm participation by Nov. 29, 2014, then the event will be opened to any MAAC member, at which time the cost will be $20.

This will be an informal and casual funfly, with as few rules as possible, of course maintaining all safety rules as per MAAC.  2014 MAAC membership is required.  Depending on models at the event, time may be allocated to different types of flying: slow-flying, aerobatic, 3D, etc. This will be decided at the event.
2.4ghz transmitters are recommended, but a frequency board will be used if at least one person requests it beforehand.

Depending on suggestions, we may have one or two short contests, and perhaps some prizes.  Food is not provided, although the venue usually has some snacks, drinks and pizza for sale.
Any suitable indoor model airplane is allowed.  Helicopter models are limited to the micro single-cell battery type.

This thread will be monitored by Michael and Jack. An up-to-date flyers list (below) will be maintained on this website.

Papa

I Know we have all these wonderful foam jobs so how about something different.

How about all you builders and budding builders get a rubber powered balsa and tissue kit and convert it to electric? You could keep it a simple rudder and elevator, two channel job. I think it would be great fun.

Any takers?

Put in Conrad and Claire Higgins, two juniors.

I'm afraid this is a serious answer - I'm busy. Sorry. Have fun without me.

Ok, Ed, you're in.

Practice flying this summer, and start looking for a suitable indoor or micro model.

Suggestions:

Parkzone Ember; very easy to fly.

Parkzone T28; easy to fly, but with 4 channels.

Both of these will bind directly to a Spektrum transmitter.

Thanks Michael
The t-28 looks interesting, the Ember seems like a toy.
