I must've been good this year because look what Santa brought me!

Who else was lucky enough to get hobby gifts?

Andy Hoffer

Have you got any photos of Santa delivering this to your house?!!  :D

Thought this might provide a holiday chuckle for everyone...especially the upper left corner of the box eaten by the neighbour's dog who was "Home Alone", staying with us while his owners are away on vacation...the dog ( a ten month old, 50 lb Shepherd mix...Shepherd mixed with ballistic lunatic) is now staying at the vet's.
While we were out visiting on Christmas Day, the dog busted out of his crate...As well as the box corner, he also ate one Blackberry cable, several Christmas tree ornaments and two bags of chocolate Christmas goodies...have you ever tried to find a vet's office open at 11:00 p.m. Christmas Day night?
Second photo is the room he destroyed...but he missed the Cub!
DOWN WITH GRAVITY! UP WITH LEVITY!

Clearly a dog with good taste.  I am sure an HK kit would have been devoured.  The E-Flite Cub was too good to eat. :)

re"he also ate one Blackberry cable, several Christmas tree ornaments"

Plug an extension cord into his rear end and see if he lights up! ;D

This isn't electric but it flies non the less, so I'm throwing it on the thread. My dog's breeder is an international dog show judge who travels the world. She toured a kite museum in China and brought back this hand made dragon kite for me for Christmas (photo 1). It's exquisitely made: hand painted rice paper body over a split bamboo frame with very, very thin nylon wings and tail. It also has 2 really cool claws (photo 2) that fasten on the body along with a fancy hand reel system. In back of the claws is my latest project, a 1920 Loening M-8 scratch build for RC indoor.

The last picture is what my wife gave me. I guess I was a bad boy; no planes under the tree this year.

Actually, that's perfect for the hobby. Keep those in your car for after really scary landings!  ;D

I think I owned that dog's grandmother. Someone gave me a four pound box of chocolate covered carmels. They were all individually wrapped in foil. I made the mistake of leaving them on the coffee table so people could help themselves. When we were out, the dog ate about half of them , and then proceeded to throw up the half digested ones over the ones she did not eat.
What could possibly go wrong?

They should have been dark brown instead of grey! :D

I was gifted 2 kits: a Stevens Aero Groove 480 and a FliteTest Cruiser.  Tip: Great Hobbies' wish list makes it very easy for your spouse to do the right thing.

Sneaky wife! I received a belated, just arrived gift of a Big E-Fair 100" span HK ARF glider. I have their smaller, built up balsa E-Fair, and at seventy some odd dollars 2 years ago, its turned out to be a superb little soarer for next to nothing. I'll programme flaperons on this largish fellow, as the smaller model doesn't have ailerons and I've almost lost it several times in brick lifters.

So, planes for Christmas, 4 years in a row. Life is good!
