I absolutely can't buy a new car now. I need a 6' bed.

The plane is so big, I saw it in the sky clearly at least 1 km west of the club.

It looks great in the air.

Congratulations, Ben!

Looks a bit windy. I think I'll stay home and admire my perfectly intact sailplane today.

Very cool, Ben.  I've never seen that plane and didn't realize it was so big!

Was that your first successful flight?  Did it crash on it's first flight last time?

Congrats.  A great feeling, eh?

Wow, what a great flight.  Years ago when I got into the hobby, there was a big electric sailplane that I wanted to buy.  It was made by Graupner and it was a 100" wingspan pusher model with rudder and elevator.  Missed my chance though since I have not seen this model advertised in many years and I don't even remember the name.

Very cool email from a fellow Sailaire owner:

Hello Ben, I am glad you like my colors on the Sailare. It is simple, but effective, and easy to see. The bottom is done in a charcole color.

I have had many enjoyable flights with mine. I used the yellow one to do my 2 hour flight for Level 5. I used a differnt one to do the 10K. Also used the yellow one to get a level 5 win. I have also gotton a 2nd and a 3rd at the Nats, in NOS.

Great plane, and I sure do enjoy flying it. I hope you have as much fun with yours,as I do mine.

Subject: Sailaire colour scheme

Hello Johnny,

You don't know me, i'm Ben Feist, member of the Electric Model Flyers of Southern Ontario (www.emfso.org). I found your email address on rcgroups.com.

I wanted to let you know that after mashing my Sailaire into the ground in 2004 (reversed elevator on takeoff) I finally rebuilt it this winter. And when looking for a colour scheme I came across your photo on the net (http://www.masportaviator.com/articlepics/roadtothenationals/IMG_0121x.jpg ). Your bird looked so fantastic I had to try out the same colour scheme.

The result can be seen here: http://emfso.org/discussions/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1441

Thanks for the inspiration. If you ever come to an Ontario flying event I'll be sure to leave my plane at home out of respect for the original white/yellow/black designer :)

Cheers,

Ben
