I hope you recognize the effort in sprucing up our club. The field has been rolled and flattened in a gentle matter; it is improved and flatter, but the grass has not been damaged.

The driveway has been improved too (We owe a case of beer to our neighbor!)

John Kusterin is working on putting up a better fence.

Also, the website has been changed a bit. There is now an alternating banner on the home page. (There is a small window warning that opens first. Just press enter or click it away and ignore it; It will be gone in a few days anyway.)

We now have 41 members for 2007, and more have indicated that they are joining.

By next week, I will put up a list of names of current members and a set of rules at the club.

Beautiful work, Michael -- the field looks amazing.  An older gentleman from a nearby glow club dropped by on Sunday afternoon to watch... he commented on what a great facility we have.  I think he's going to call you about a possible membership.

Also, a couple of jerks on dirt bikes found their way down the driveway while we were flying and snarled up and down the path beside the pits in an aggressive manner.   Fortunately they stayed off the field, but their activity was most annoying.

I would caution against that.  Pissing them off will mark the end of our nice, smooth flying field..... and I doubt the cops will bother doing anything about it.

Our friends car was recently side-swiped on the 401 and she was lucky to servive with only a nearly written-off car.  A guy in another car saw this happen and followed the hit and run culprit.  He got his licence plate and a good look at the guy driving...and he was willing to identify him.  The cops were able to find out who the bad guy was and where he lived, but didn't feel it was worth persuing legal action.  I doubt they would bother with a bit of torn up grass......especially not without eye witnesses.

Anyway, I would suggest (and I'll do it if I'm there) to try and get a chance to talk to the guys on the bikes and ask them nicely to avoid driving on the landing area.  I suspect they would likely then appreciate where we're coming from and we can all be on good terms.

Michael, I did notice that it's smoother ... a little. [;)]   So is this the extent of our "fixing the holes" effort or is this a preliminary "fix"?

I would love to fill the holes, as discussed earier this year.

Unfortunately, I don't have unlimied time to take care of everything.

Is there anyone one else in our club who can check on:

1. the cost and source of the proper soil needed to fill the holes,
2. the cost and source of the proper grass seeds to cover the soil,
3. arrange the transportation of these to TEMAC,
4. and then arrange for members to come and physically do the work?

I'm willing to help with the physical work,
and of course TEMAC will pay the costs for the materials.

I Drove by the field tonight in the rain and noticed most of the road was under water. Seems whoever "fixed" the road removed material from the center of the road and pushed it to the side effectively building a dike.

I went to the field last night and somebody drove in yesterday(less than 24 hours after the rain) and left new ruts, not as deep though.
