If you have never posted before now is your chance to get started.

Post your favourite Aviation Saying and share it with us all.

Mike Hazelton gave me the idea but he has to come up with another one.

Post as many as you want.

I'll start it off:

A smooth landing is mostly luck; two in a row is all luck; three in a row is prevarication.

Jack.
A motto to live by:
"What other people think of me is none of my business"

"For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return."

That's deep, Gordon   :)

I like John McNicol's saying about helicopters:

"Helicopters don't fly.  They're so damn ugly the ground repels them!"

Sorry heli guys  ;)

If God had meant man to fly, he'd have given him lots more money.
Takeoffs are optional. Landings are mandatory.

Mike wins, hands down!

As for the winter blues, Ice Pilots don't have them, except maybe on their finger tips!  :)

Frank v B

Came across two (no reference to originators):

"The probability of survival is inversely proportional to the angle of arrival".

"when in doubt, hold on to your altitude.  No-one has ever collided with the sky"

Frank van Beurden ;D
"Never trade luck for skill"

Frank v B

This one is priceless:

"The scientific theory I like best is that the rings around Saturn are composed entirely of lost airline luggage"  Mark Russell

"Never trade luck for skill"

My old flying instructor (full size) used to say these 2 things all the time:

"There's nothing more useless than runway behind you and altitude above you" and, regarding marginal flying weather,  "Its better to be down here wishing you were up there than the other way around".

Eric

Eric "stole" my first choice with his first one ;D

So how about "There are old pilots and there are bold pilot but there are no old, bold pilots"

Pat MacKenzie

Michael

"It doesn't matter how bad it looked, as long as the last 15 seconds of the flight are perfect!"

Michael Rogozinsky 2012

Basic Flying Rules: "Try to stay in the middle of the air. Do not go near the edges of it. The edges of the air can be recognized by the appearance of ground, buildings, sea, trees and interstellar space. It is much more difficult to fly there."

"I feel the need ........ the need for speed!"

I was going to have a really good saying but my writers are on strike.

My favourite as of late "did the canopy come off? No the whole plane came off!"
