Any new pilot who does not have MAAC ( www.maac.ca ) recognized wings, but is a member of MAAC, and has their current RPAS Certificate and follows all Transport Canada rules and all MAAC rules and all TEMAC rules and can use a ruler (analog, not digital) can join the club, and fly his or her model under the supervision of a club instructor. New members with wings certification by another club will require a check flight observed by a club instructor. Once competent, wings will be awarded to new members by a club instructor. The intention here is simply to provide a welcome environment for electric model enthusiasts to fly their models in a quiet and safe area.
TEMAC is a MAAC registered and chartered club, with regulations tailored specifically for radio control electric model flight at this location.
This means that all members fly according to MAAC safety regulations, Transport Canada Safety Regulations, and all parties are insured.
All TEMAC members must be MAAC members and have their current RPAS Certificate. (www.maac.ca)

Juniors
There are 2 categories of Juniors. Age 12 to under 14 (Junior Non-RPAS) and 14 to 18 (Junior RPAS).
The distinction is a Transport Canada rule that RPAS can only be obtained by 14 and older.
Membership fees are waived for anyone under the age of 18.
All participants over 14 years old are legally required to have a basic RPAS license from Transport Canada. All models to be flown must be registered with Transport Canada, with the registration number clearly visible on the model.
Members under the age of 14 may receive flight instruction, but cannot achieve Solo or Wings status until they are 14 years old, which is the minimum age, defined by Transport Canada, for acquiring a basic RPAS license.
Junior Members Non-RPAS may learn with a Parent Member, as long the parent is committed to getting their wings. Once the Junior Member Non-RPAS has achieved the equivalent of Solo, it would be up to the parent to stand beside the Junior Member Non-RPAS while the Junior Member Non-RPAS is flying until the Junior Member Non-RPAS turned 14 and got their Basic RPAS. The Parent Member must have their Wings status, MAAC, and Basic RPAS.
An RPAS license and model registration is not required for flying model aircraft with a gross weight of less than 250 grams, but those under the age of 14 must fly under the supervision of an instructor who does have RPAS.
